Activated Alumina, Chromatographic
For natural product extraction, purification & decolorization, heavy metal removal, cleanup, and more
Activated alumina products for column chromatography that are standardized according to Brockmann methods to ensure quality and reproducibility.
Sorbtech Offers The Best Selection of Activated Alumina Featuring:
- Defined activities
- pH values (acid, base, neutral)
- Particle distributions (MPLC, Flash, Gravity)
Our aluminas are manufactured using GMP standards ensuring the highest performance and lot-to-lot reproducibility with no scale-up limitations.
The activity of oxides present in sorbents is determined by their water content. According to Brockmann, five activity grades are differentiated depending on their water content:
Activity Grade | Alumina Oxide | Silica |
---|---|---|
I | - | - |
II | 3% | 10% |
III | 6% | 12% |
IV | 10% | 15% |
V | 15% | 20% |
Our Selection of Standard Chromatographic Techniques Includes:
- Flash chromatography
- Classic column chromatography
- MPLC, HPLC, TLC, and DCC
Special Techniques include:
- Remove peroxides from solvents
- Solvent purification for UV-Spectroscopy
- Natural product purification and decolorization
- Remove heavy metals
- Clean-up, dioxin analysis, and separation of isotopes
Custom Activated Aluminas Include:
- Modifiable porosities
- Surface area and particle distributions
- Colloidal particles
While both the 15740, a gravity grade of alumina, and the 16050 (a flash grade of alumina) can be used for compound purification, we observe better performance with the 16050. Not only can your desired compounds elute faster, but the purity is also improved.
